Giving at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School

At St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School, we know that generosity comes in many forms.  By investing our time, talents, and treasure we can continue to share Jesus. Besides our normal offering envelopes and passing the plate in church, we have other ways to give to the lord. Each of the options below are linked back to your offering envelope number.

Online Giving

St. Peter’s using Vanco for online giving. The Vanco website is the simplest way to give electronically. The link below takes you to our giving site. Payment options include both ACH and Credit Card.  Credit Card offerings incur a 3% service charge. ACH offerings from your bank account is the preferred method. Creating a username and password is not required but highly recommended. You can do one-time or reoccurring offerings to specific funds. A description of each fund is listed below.

Online Giving – Mobile App

Vanco also has a mobile app for both Apple and Android. This app uses the same username and password as the website above. After downloading the app, you will need to search for our organization. You will need to search for “Fond du Lac” to find the St. Peter’s listing. You can then join the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church organization and give offerings just like the Vanco Website. Link for both apps are below. The App is called Vanco Mobile Faith Engagement.

EFT Giving Form

By filling out the following form, St. Peter’s can setup the electronic funds transfer for you. After filling out the form, you can return it to Anna or Ashley in the front office.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Are you 70 1/2 or over? Consider using a Qualified Charitable Distribution to give your church offerings. Give to your savior’s work while at the same time reducing income taxes. Many of our senior members are using this tool to give. Please contact your tax professional for more information.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a great way for individuals that are over 70 1/2years old with an IRA and a need to withdraw funds to meet a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), to make a contribution to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. The funds you contribute to St. Peter’s using a QCD is not included in your adjusted gross income on your tax return and is often a better option than listing the donation as a simple charitable contribution.

WELS Foundation

The WELS Foundation exists to help members leave a monument of their faith, which will be a blessing for many years to come.

By establishing a named endowment fund, donor advised fund, charitable gift annuity, or charitable remainder trust, you are creating a lasting legacy by supporting your local and national WELS ministries.

WELS Foundation is the foundation of choice for WELS members and ministries. It is the only foundation whose sole purpose is to facilitate donors’ desires to support WELS ministries.

St. Peter’s Funds

Each giving option lists different funds you can give to. Here is a brief explanation of each of the funds:

  • General/Operating – Our unified budget. Salaries, Mortgage, Board Budgets, WELS Ministry and WLA Support.
  • Honoring The Lord – Extra payments to retire our debt on the new building.
  • Improvement Fund – Unbudgeted Maintenance items and building projects.
  • Forward in Trust – Support for Winnebago Lutheran Academy.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

“On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.” (1 Corinthians 16:2)
